Brothers Cider credits independents with helping drive growth

Sales grew in the independent sector by 65%, compared to overall growth of 48.4%

Brothers Cider has credited independent retailers with helping drive growth in the past year.

The supplier has seen 48.4% sales growth year-on-year, making it the UK’s fastest growing premium mainstream cider brand.

This was helped by sales in the independent sector, which increased by 65%, outpacing Brothers’ overall growth.

“Independent retail has been a key channel for Brothers as we’ve continued to drive forward as a business with fantastic growth,” said Nicola Randall, senior marketing manager at Brothers Cider.

“Over the past year and during the course of the pandemic, independent retailers have been integral to suppliers and consumers alike, as a linchpin for the communities they serve. We look forward to continuing to work and build our relationship with the sector over the years ahead.”

Brothers’ leading brands Rhubarb and Custard and Toffee saw 36.6% and 34.4% increases in value sales year on year respectively. It has seen overall revenue growth of 29% over the past two years, and was ranked 12th on the Alantra Food & Beverage Fast 50 this year.
