United Biscuits is continuing its plans to double category growth in the biscuit sector by 2020 with the launch of two new ranges.
The McVitie’s To Go snack packs mark the first time some of its sweet biscuit range
has been available for customers who are on the move.
The To Go range is available in two formats – a multi-pack and individual packs. The
former will be available in four different varieties: McVitie’s Original, Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Digestives and Milk Chocolate Hobnobs.
The individual packs contain two biscuits, RRP 50p, and will be available in Milk Chocolate Digestives and Milk Chocolate Hobnobs.
The launch will be supported by in-store activity and will benefit from a TV ad
later in the year.
UB believes the initiative will meet growing consumer demand for biscuits on the go, which is outstripping supply – only 5% of all biscuits are available in on-the-go formats.
Meanwhile, McVitie’s has launched two products into the ‘free-from’ biscuit category.
Gluten-Free Original Hobnobs and Gluten-Free Milk Chocolate Hobnobs are rolling out to stores now, backed by a digital and PR campaign.
