Londis has unveiled the new thinking behind its ‘store of the future’ format, which focuses on driving value, food to go and speciality diets.

The format includes protein, free-from and American confectionery ranges in favour of a reduced grocery and newspapers & magazines section. Spirits take the place of the cigarette gantry, with tobacco now stocked under the counter.

It was unveiled at Peter Bhadal’s Londis Woodhouse Street store in Leeds, who has been trading in the community since 1989. “I was nervous about the reduction of some of our range, but sales and profits are up,” he said.
