Gallo is extending its premium wine range with Apothic Dark, which offers shoppers a richer taste than its original Apothic Red variety.

Apothic Dark will be backed by a sampling and digital campaign. It has an ABV of 14% and an RRP of £10.

David Mallory, Gallo impulse channel director, said the launch will appeal to those who want to buy more complex and drier red wines than Apothic Red.

“The brand is currently growing by 49% and is the number two US wine brand in the UK,” he added.
