The past eighteen months has shown the importance of local communities

The Health Lottery are celebrating 10 years of supporting local causes and being vital in helping local communities across the UK.

During the years, over £121 million has been raised for more than 3000 diverse community groups. Many of these groups champion mental and physical wellbeing alongside community development.

The support has helped communities to lead causes which put local people at the heart of the decision-making process.

£158 million has been won in prizes over the year, with the winners often citing the money used from ticket sales to fund community projects as a key reason for choosing to play The Health Lottery.

Government confirms National Lottery products may continue to be sold by underage staff

The Health Lottery’s managing director, Martin Ellice, said: “The past 18 months have shown everyone the importance of community.  The pandemic has shown how important dedicated volunteers are to their communities and we will continue to support them for many years to come.

“Although we are celebrating The Health Lottery’s birthday, we are also keen to celebrate the charities and volunteers who ensure the funds we raise truly make a difference. We celebrate them today as well.
