Select & Save strikes deal with Amazon
Select & Save has struck a deal to add Amazon self-service lockers to its stores to help retailers attract footfall.
The symbol group announced the partnership last month and the first locker was installed at its company-owned store in Wythall, Worcestershire, last month. It said on a social media post: “Right location adjacent to a railway station. There’s lots of passing traffic and a big car park. It’s going to be interesting to watch customer count over the coming weeks as it is marketed.”
The lockers are self-service kiosks that allow customers to collect parcels from convenience stores if they are unable to sign for them at home. One independent retailer in Coventry told betterRetailing that 50% of customers who use the locker in his store spend in his shop.
