PayPoint: ‘No retailer is being forced to remove services’
PayPoint has responded to reports in RN and Retail Express of letters sent out to shop owners asking for immediate action to prevent the removal of their yellow terminals.
PayPoint said the letter was sent to a ‘small number of retailers’. It said that ‘no retailer is being forced to remove or shut down PayPoint services’.
The service provider had announced two years ago that its yellow T2 terminals would be retired, with a targeted retirement date of December 2019. Stores can migrate to one of three options of its new PayPoint One EPOS system, or leave their contracts without penalty.
