The owner of a convenience store in Middlesbrough has won £10,000 in Allwyn’s Site, Stock, Sell quarterly prize draw.
Amy Fowler, owner of Arncliffe Stores, scooped the prize as part of an initiative that rewards National Lottery retailers who maintain high in-store standards.
In total, £20,000 in quarterly prizes is awarded, with the remaining £10,000 split between 10 other retailers, each receiving £1,000.
Fowler said she would be using her prize money to pay off some of her mortgage.

“I was overjoyed when I found out I’d won and couldn’t believe it,” she added. “It was an amazing feeling! Being rewarded this way by Allwyn gives shopkeepers a chance to feel appreciated for the work we do.”
Ramandeep Singh, owner of Northwood Food and Wine, who won £1,000 in the draw, said: “My wife and I have been saving for a holiday. It’s something we really need at the moment as she’s been doing overtime at her job where she provides childcare relief for families with children with special needs.”
Singh added that any money left over would be used to buy more stock for the shop.
