How independent retailers can capitalise on their protein range

High protein snacks grew by 40% this year alone, and through the Unitas channel, including its Plan for Profit platform, convenience retailers will have access to information and advice on how to drive additional profit from the category.

Some of its range includes Optimum Bar (£2.29), Protein Crisp Bar (£2.29), Nutra-Go Low Sugar Protein Wafer (£1.79) and new BSN Protein Bar (£1.49), which are all available through Unitas Wholesale channels, including Dhamecha from mid-December.

Glanbia Performance Nutrition UK marketing director Paul Coppin, said: “With over 60% seeking out products with added protein, there is a real opportunity for independent retailers to drive additional profit.

“We are delighted to partner with Unitas Wholesale to bring our 30 years of experience to their members and help retailers grow this emerging high protein category distinct from confectionery snacking.”
