Andrew started his career at Mars, before founding social enterprises The People’s Supermarket and Food from the Sky. In 2006, Andrew created Thornton’s Budgens in a bid to develop a business that cares about people and the planet.

In 2013, Andrew co-founded Heart in Business to encourage the shift from an obsession with profit towards a focus on growing people and business for a better society. Over the 13 years since its inception, Thornton’s Budgens has led the way in sustainability, most recently becoming the first UK supermarket (and the second in the world) to launch plastic-free zones.
