Retailers are urging the government to detail how they will support stores after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The comments come a month before the ban preventing landlords from evicting tenants comes to an end on 30 June.
Ravi Raveendran, owner of Colombo Mini Mart in London, told betterRetailing: “We are entitled to some sort of compensation to protect small businesses from facing any more damage.”
He added: “I also want reassurance from my landlord we won’t be faced with any rent increases in the near future.”
