Retailers are urging the government to detail how they will support stores after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The comments come a month before the ban preventing landlords from evicting tenants comes to an end on 30 June.

ACS urges the government to continue support beyond the pandemic

Ravi Raveendran, owner of Colombo Mini Mart in London, told Better Retailing: “We are entitled to some sort of compensation to protect small businesses from facing any more damage.”

He added: “I also want reassurance from my landlord we won’t be faced with any rent increases in the near future.”
