The ACS’ Local Shop Report revealed that 20% of retailers haven’t taken a holiday this year. Have you?

Earlier this month, the ACS’ Local Shop Report revealed that independent retailers are some of the hardest working people in the UK, with 25% working more than 70 hours per week on average and 20% not taking a holiday at any time of the year.

But RN’s poll this week suggests the situation may be even more extreme. Nearly two thirds of voters said they hadn’t taken a holiday this year, while just 18% said they had one planned for later this year, and 23% said they had managed to take a break.

But with mounting pressure on local stores’ finances in the face of legislation such as the National Minimum Wage, will it be even harder for retailers to afford a holiday in future?

Don’t forget to vote in this week’s poll on what Jeremy Corbyn’s win means for small business.
