Webbs of Leverington HND agent Brian Webb is generating approximately £600 of extra revenue per week by operating a postal service for his newspaper delivery customers.

“Local GP surgeries were sending out hundreds of letters a day and paying Royal Mail 60p a time, whereas we can do it for 30p a letter,” he said.

Webb advised other HND agents to consider the service, but warned only to send post for those with news accounts. “The Post Office reported us to Ofcom for operating a postal service without a licence, but because the post was only sent for existing news customers, no licence is needed. I’ve picked up HND customers because they want to be able to use the postal service,” he explained.
