InPost acquires Yodel to become UK’s third-largest independent delivery provider

The move enables InPost to handle over 300 million parcels a year and expand its merchant base to 500+ e-commerce retailers

Parcel locker operator InPost has acquired delivery provider Yodel, expanding its UK market share to approximately 8% and establishing itself as the country’s third-largest independent delivery company.

The deal allows InPost to integrate Yodel’s home delivery capabilities with its existing out-of-home (OOH) delivery network, significantly boosting its operational scale and service range. The combined operations will enable InPost to handle more than 300 million parcels annually, and expand its merchant base to over 500 e-commerce retailers.

The network will now include 10,000 automated parcel machines and over 18,000 OOH locations across the UK. InPost’s next day to door delivery service will also be enhanced by its extended OOH offering. The UK is now expected to contribute around 30% of InPost Group’s overall revenue.

This acquisition follows InPost’s purchase of Menzies Distribution in October 2024, a move which gave the company full control of its UK logistics operations.

InPost doubles parcel volumes to 93.2 million

Under the terms of the latest deal, InPost has acquired 95.5% of the share capital of Judge Logistics Ltd, the parent company of Yodel Delivery Network. PayPoint will retain a minority 4.5% stake, building on its existing partnership with Yodel.

How does Yodel acquisition fit into InPost’s long-term plans?

Rafał Brzoska, Founder and CEO of InPost Group, described the acquisition as a “pivotal milestone” in the company’s UK ambitions.

“We have just fast-forwarded five years of organic expansion in the UK, and it is a clear reflection of our long-term commitment to this market — a market where we see enormous opportunity for growth. Our logistics model has transformed delivery in other European markets, and with this acquisition, we are now well positioned to do the same here,” he said.

Neil Kuschel, CEO of InPost UK, called the move a “game-changer” for the business.

“Combining doorstep deliveries with our unrivalled locker network, we are reshaping the future of parcel delivery. We will be able to provide customers and e-commerce retailers with the reliability, flexibility, and efficiency they expect,” he said.
