United Wholesale Scotland has launched a series of roadshows to tell retailers directly about how it is supporting them.

Retailers who attend can learn about the wholesaler’s tobacco club as well as its new procurement hub, which helps retailers alleviate cost pressures through services such as pest control and merchant services.

Managing director Chris Gallacher told RN: “Retailers aren’t having to travel, so we’re reaching as many as possible.”

“Symbol stores like Day-Today are fighting for their livelihoods. Services we highlight in the roadshows show how you can actually control your costs.”

Mohammed Rajak, of Buywell Day-Today in Glasgow added: “The information gained about services such as the tobacco club were invaluable.”

The roadshows add to a yearly tradeshow and regional customer meetings, allowing the wholesaler to meet with 70% of its 500 Day-Today symbol group retailers.
