MP requests energy-crisis support for food suppliers: ‘No-one must be short-changed’

MPs have urged the government not to “short-change” food suppliers on utility support, as the energy relief for businesses is to be scaled back in April

Speaking at an energy inquiry session attended by food and drink minister Mark Spencer at an all-party parliamentary group this month, MP Sharon Hodgson highlighted the challenges facing suppliers, such as wholesalers, during the energy crisis

She said: “The government’s ambition is to make sure that no-one’s lights go out. The challenge is that all businesses are important, so no-one must be short-changed.”
