Co-op Food CEO Jo Whitfield has resigned from her position after five years in the role, and six overall at the group.
Former commercial director at the group Matt Hood will become managing director of Co-op Food, and will be responsible for the commercial and operational areas of the business.
Chair Allan Leighton said: “Jo has led a reinvention of our food business. She always put colleagues first and championed colleague safety.”
