Increased demand for Lucozade Original has led to a wave of shortages, the manufacturer has confirmed.
A spokesperson for Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I told Better Retailing it was continuing to experience “extraordinary demand” for its drinks as it approaches the summer months.
“We are working with our wholesale and retail partners to address this challenge,” they said.

However, they did not expand on how the long the problem was expected to last, or confirm how many retailers had been affected.
Several retailers told Better Retailing last week they had struggled to get the products in the past month. One said: “It’s frustrating. This is a big seller in our store.”
At this stage, it is understood only Lucozade Original has been affected.
