Daily Mail diverts printing to avoid Just Stop Oil protests

Protests targeted a fuel depot near Thurrock in Essex

The Daily Mail was forced to divert its newspaper printing to alternative sites last week as planned protests were due to impact deliveries.

Protests carried out by activist group Just Stop Oil, which targeted a fuel depot near Thurrock, Essex, led to road closures in the surrounding area, affecting routes near the publisher’s print site.

In response, the Daily Mail implemented contingency plans and diverted printing to alternative sites, located several miles away. Better Retailing understands that, as a result, there was no disruption to deliveries to independent retailers.
