EXCLUSIVE: Parfetts and Nisa to terminate chilled and frozen drop shipment agreement

The termination will make Eden Farm Hulleys the main chilled and frozen drop shipment supplier for Parfetts

Nisa and Parfetts are to terminate their chilled and frozen drop shipment from May.

In communication sent to stores, seen by Better Retailing, Nisa told retailers the drop shipment agreement will stop from 8 May. Affected stores were given the option to open a direct account with Nisa instead. Go Local stores are currently able to order Co-op own label products as part of the drop shipment relationship.

Better Retailing understands the termination would make Eden Farm Hulleys the main chilled and frozen drop shipment for Parfetts customers, which consists of more than 1,100 Go Local symbol retailers, and unaffiliated store owners.

One affected store owner, who asked not to be named, told Better Retailing: “I order a lot of my frozen and chilled through this partnership and Co-op is a good product for me.”

Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, said: “Nisa supplied just 26 of the over 1,100 Go Local stores with chilled and frozen produce. Parfetts has moved quickly to source another supplier to ensure our retailers see no disruption in supply.”

Nisa has been approached for comment.
