Budgens brand director Baker to retire

Baker is to retire at the end of May

Budgens brand director Mike Baker is to retire at the end of May after a six-year career with Booker.

Baker’s retirement will see Stewart Fenn oversee both the Budgens and Londis brands as Booker Retail Partners sales director. Fenn will be working with Baker to ensure a smooth transition process in the meantime.

The firm also announced other senior role changes within the business. Martyn Parkinson is to oversee the Premier, Family Shopper, Retail Club and independent retail divisions as Booker Wholesale sales director. He was previously Premier brand director. Parkinson will be supported by new head of retail (wholesale) Damian Sanderson, who was previously retail development controller with the company.

A Booker spokesperson said: “Mike has worked passionately for Budgens retailers and we’d like to thank him for his contribution and wish him a very happy retirement.”

“By making these changes we are creating a simpler structure to ensure we continue to deliver better choice, price and service for our customers.”
