Co-op has confirmed it is expanding its online delivery partnership with Deliveroo in the UK.

The partnership with the internet delivery provider began last year with five Manchester stores and his since extended to 11 following the addition of branches in London.

Since the trial started, Co-op’s product range sold through Deliveroo, which includes tobacco, alcohol and household items, has extended from 42 to 450, and receives an average of 800 weekly orders.

In a company newsletter, Co-op senior store operations manager George Hayworth said the average spend per transaction is £15: “We’ve expanded into some stores in London, getting our products closer to thousands more potential customers. More towns might be next.”
