The Co-op is taking steps to restore its systems after hackers successfully accessed and extracted data from one of its platforms.
Last week, the Co-op revealed that data believed to have been taken included members’ personal information such as names, contact details (residential addresses, email addresses and phone numbers), and dates of birth.
However, a spokesperson for the Co-op confirmed it is working to bring systems back online in a “safe and controlled manner”, with improved stock availability in food stores and online expected from this weekend.

The stock ordering system is now fully operational, all orders have returned to normal supply processes, and all forms of payment—including contactless and chip and PIN—are functioning across its estate.
“We will provide further updates to our members as we continue to make progress from this cyber-attack,” the spokesperson said.
The Co-op launched an investigation in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre and the National Crime Agency as part of its response to the breach.
