Rio Soft Drinks has launched a 1.5l bottle version of its original tropical drink, to tap into the growth of take-home formats in fruity carbonates.
The launch comes amid growth both for the brand and the format. Rio Tropical Fruit is currently the fastest-growing flavour in the flavoured carbonates category, having grown by more than 50% in two years, according to IRI. Overall, the Rio brand has grown by 29% annually.

Additionally, 40% of fruit carbonated shoppers buy a 1.5l or 2l drink once a week or more, according to market intelligence firm Vypr.
