Swizzels has launched The Great Community Refresh, a nationwide initiative to give back to the community. It comes in the wake of the 70th anniversary of its iconic chew bar Refreshers.
Refreshers marks 70th anniversary with Tropical bar launch
As part of the initiative, Swizzels is giving away seven prizes of £1,000, one for each decade of Refreshers, to refresh and revive community spaces across the UK. Retailers have until 30 June to nominate spaces, groups, clubs or initiatives in their local area to help make a positive difference in their communities and bring people together.
To enter, retailers must visit the Swizzels website and share why their chosen community project deserves the prize and how it will be used to make a lasting difference. A panel of judges will select seven winning projects in July.

The Great Community Refresh is all about brightening up neighbourhoods, bringing people together and showcasing the wealth of community spirit in the UK.
“Through this competition, we want to spread the joy of Refreshers even further, inspiring and supporting people to uplift and refresh places, spaces and initiatives in their area. With entries open for just three more weeks, we encourage people to submit their projects as soon as possible to be in with a chance of bringing their visions to life. Retailers can get involved by spreading the word in their communities and nominating spaces or initiatives in their area in need of a refresh.”
