Last week Retail Newsagent published a useful guide to the costs that need to be included in a HND retailer’s calculations for their customer delivery charge.
The list covers most of a retailer’s cost items, but missed the cost of getting newspapers and magazines to their store: the Wholesaler Carriage Charge.
Some of these costs are weekly, some monthly and other annual or one offs. Once you have collected these expense figures you need you can use our online calculator to crunch the numbers. Just fill in the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cost items plus the average number of weeks your customer have deliveries over a year and the number of full service customers you have. The calculator will tell you how much your delivery service cost each week for each customer. Simple.
