“Our store has a strong reputation in the local area for breakfast rolls, baps and turnovers, as well as rolls, pasties, filled baguettes and other bakes. We can upsell these items by promoting them alongside our coffee and sandwiches. Last year, we held a tasting day when we launched new food-to-go bakery products such as hot and cold wraps and new flavours of filled rolls. We also offer a “baguette of the day” which stays on a promotional price of £1.99 to encourage customers to try the whole range, and we do a meal deal offer of a hot drink and bacon or sausage bap. Our sales have been growing steadily each month since we introduced these offers and we know there is a strong opportunity in bakery.”
