Compare the price of your Christmas confectionery range
Behind the numbers
- Christmas confectionery is a category where competitive price is key. Of the categories surveyed, only three had a majority of retailer's charging above the most-common price. Indeed, for Cadbury Dairy Milk Mini Snowballs 110g, 94% of retailers are sticking to the £1.99 most-common price. Some retailers are charging as little as £1.
- One line where retailers do seem to be able to get extra profit is Terry's Chocolate Orange 157g. Sixty percent of retailers charge above the £1.50 most-common price, some are going as high as £3.59, and no retailer is charging below the most-common price.
- Meanwhile, 56% of retailers charge more than the most-common price, £5.50, on Celebrations 600g. The highest-price being charged is £10.99.
- Similarly, the Cadbury line with the most potential is Heroes 290g, where 34% of retailers charge above the most-common price, £3.50. The highest price charged is £5.99.
