Behind the numbers
- Fuel10k Porridge Pot Chocolate 70g is the line where most retailers are eking out extra profit. Most-common price £1, 62% of stores are charging more than that with £1.59 the highest price recorded.
- In terms of pure additional cash profit, Scott's Porage Oats Original 1kg is worth paying attention to. While £3.09 is the most-common price, the highest price recorded on the line is £4.49. What's more, 43% of retailers are charging above the most-common price, the second most for any line surveyed, suggesting there's profits to be had in larger pack sizes.
- Elsewhere, it's worth noting that there seems to be less potential on the relatively premium-priced Alpen lines. Both the Original and No Sugar 550g variants have a £3.25 most-common price. Only 9% and 11%, respectively, charge above that for Alpen. £3.85 is the highest price recorded for either, on the No Sugar option.
