Booker is launching a range of premium restaurant-style ready meals, offering a 42.5% margin on each line, with the Pro Cuisine range available in cash and carry and delivered wholesale. 

Available from the end of April with an RRP of £5, meals include Lamb Rogan Josh with Rice, Steak Ragu Pappardelle, Thai Green Curry & Rice, Beef Bourguignon & Mash Potato, Beef Stroganoff & Rice and Chicken Bake. They have a shelf life of 14 days. 

Booker sales drop amid focus on value

The rollout of the Pro Cuisine range helps fill a gap left in 2022, when the Jack’s own-label range replaced a number of international-inspired ready meals under the Discover the Choice banner. 

Growth in Booker’s retail sales recently crept below 1% for the first time since 2021, as parent company Tesco invested more in value options for wholesale and the One Stop brand.
