TPD2 reminder: What you shouldn’t have on your tobacco display

The EU Tobacco Products Directive 2 is now in force: here's a reminder of what should no longer be in your display.

The EU Tobacco Products Directive 2 is now in force, but many retailers have been caught with banned products still in their gantry. Here’s a reminder of what should no longer be in your display.

Banned under EU TPD2
Any branded tobacco packs
Packs without pictorial health warnings
Cigarette packs containing fewer than 20 sticks
Rolling tobacco packs of a weight less than 30g

Cigars
Packs of cigars less than 3g must have:
Larger health warnings covering 65% of the pack
Text warnings covering 50% of the other sides of the pack
Health warnings positioned at the top of the pack

E-cigarettes
E-cigarettes are required to have health warnings covering 30% of the pack
There is a 10ml maximum volume for e-liquid  bottles
E-liquids must not have a higher than 20mg/ml nicotine concentration
E-liquids in cartridges and single-use devices are subject to a 2ml maximum volume
