Retail sales through Jisp rise 342% in 2023

Jisp’s Scan & Save app has seen retail sales reach £3.34 million to date

Mobile app Jisp saw retail sales rise by 342% to reach £2.6m in 2023, having reached its record retail growth in August after sales reached £2.5m.

Through Jisp, retailers receive weekly payments based on in-store redemption through using the app, as well as 6p back on every Scan & Save product purchased. The app uses ‘voucher technology’ to apply discounts to branded products, which is said to drive sales and loyalty.

Jisp’s managing director Ilann Hepworth said: “The continued stratospheric rise in the success of Scan & Save is testament to the relevance of a value driven loyalty reward platform for the convenience market. In the first quarter of the year, it was already clear there was increased demand for savings through app-based retail solutions with us seeing a 600% increase in users, and that demand has only intensified.

“To have seen us add £2.6m in retail sales in the first three quarters of the year is staggering. To see those figures jump 47% in just the few months since our August announcement shows the acceleration of our performance and with the recent announcement that Nisa is set to accelerate the roll out of Scan & Save to all Nisa retailers, that shows no sign in slowing down.”

This trend in shopper engagement has continued with week-on-week data showing an 82.3% uplift in downloads of the app for week ending 15th October compared to the previous week, and a 137% increase in new users. Scans were also up 17% for the same week while the number of repeat redemptions was up 27.5%.
