Shop Layout – IAA 2016

The award for Shop layout, in association with Better Retailing:

Winner: Joga and Aman Uppal, One Stop Mount Nod, Coventry

bR-logo-webJoga and Aman have ‘nailed it’ according to the judges. They worked on hard on the store’s flow, ensuring layout and customer experience were at the centre of the design. The result is a store that feels spacious, but not empty, with great customer access.

Long wide aisles that are easy to shop with a basket and walk with a pram or wheelchair, low shelves to ensure all products are reachable and open window designs to ensure natural daylight floods the store all lead to a very positive shopping experience.

Learn more about Shop Layout

  1. Joga and Aman worked hard to design the flow of their new-build store, which features long lines of aisles and low shelves to create the appearance of space.
  2. Aisles are wide to accommodate all shoppers, including mums with prams and disabled customers. They also fit wholesaler cages so there is room for customers to shop while deliveries are shelved.
  3. An open area at the front of the shop has been specially designed for promotions which are constantly changed to keep shoppers interested in the store.
