Christmas is coming for Mondelez

Mondelez International has unveiled its Christmas 2015 range and is urging retailers to stock up from September to make the most of the festive period.

The company is bringing back several popular seasonal impulse lines, including its Cadbury Dairy Milk Snowman in vanilla and chocolate flavours, Freddo Popping Candy, and Toblerone 60g single serve packs.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Snow Bites are also returning after selling out last year, alongside advent calendars, hollow santa figures, and various gift packs. The whole range is being backed by a £10m marketing campaign – its biggest to date.

Susan Nash, trade communications manager at Mondelez International, said retailers should make sure they focus on the bestselling lines, particularly impulse lines as 34% of Christmas confectionery is bought on impulse.

She added that Christmas displays are critical and need to be in place by the end of September. “Seasonal confectionery is completely incremental to sales – it doesn’t affect base sales at all,” she said. “Retailers have to grasp the opportunity from September. If they’re late that’s lost sales.”
