News International has just announced that this Sunday, July 10, will see the last issue of the 168-year old News of the World.
In a statement read to employees, James Murdoch said that the recent phone-hacking scandal that had engulfed the paper had left it needing to take “decisive action”.
“This Sunday will be the last issue of the News of the World. Colin Myler will edit the final edition of the paper.
“In addition, I have decided that all of the News of the World’s revenue this weekend will go to good causes,” he added.

This is quick response from News Corp, but is it enough to save the rest of News International?

A clever ploy or perhaps a smoke screen but it is not the death of News of the World as it will be reborn under the name of Sun on Sunday or similar. Will the Murdoch empire survive or falter?
Only time will tell.
