Julian Taylor-Green – Londis, Hampshire

Julian Taylor-Green won an IAA award in 2009 for his shop layout. His store is just 1200 sq ft but thanks to an extensive refurbishment, many of his customers feel it’s a lot larger. Julian explains more:

“The shop was refurbished in March and my customers do not believe that we haven’t increased its size. The store is 1200 sq ft, but generally it is considered much larger. My shop has been designed to be free of clutter and provide additional space so customers can freely browse. The shelving has also been built to ensure more space between the products.

“When we went through the process of putting the shop together recently we considered the needs of our customers both now and in the future and so we decided to improve the fresh and chilled sections of the shop. The ambience and lighting also tends to focus on the signage of each section and its strengths.

“In the Post Office the floor is wooden to enhance the customer experience and add warmth to the area. We also have a weekly and monthly cleaning programme.”
