The difference between an also ran and a winner

This week the Independent Achievers Academy 2010 has been launched with the Guide to Better Sales & Profit being distributed with Retail Newsagent. As the front cover states there are ’46 great ideas for your shop’ inside the guide.

The IAA is not just a competition for great community retailers to enter it is a guide to improve the way you run your business. The category list gives you an extensive audit oportunity for your store. You can read about how real independent retailers like Julian Taylor-Green manages his store layout or how Mandeep Singh deals with availability and Vipul Pabari improves his customer service. The IAA team have even found room this year to cover responsible retailing and how my wife and I manage this important legal area in our store.

If you have not yet got your copy of the 2010 IAA Guide to Better Sales & Profit I recommend that you get hold of a copy as soon as you can. Then you can start to discover more ways to improve your business and become a great community store.
